At Shea Homes® Colorado, we know how hard moms and motherly role models work to meet the crucial needs of their families. We see it every day in our communities — whether she’s out for an afternoon nature hike along the High Line Canal or gathered around a table with the whole family at The Exchange Coffee House™ for scones and steamers, Shea moms make parenting look like a blast. To show our appreciation for everything that moms do year-round, we’ve put together a list of a handful of fun Mother’s Day activities suitable for the whole family.

Outfit the Garden for Mom
A bouquet for Mother’s Day is a classic for a reason, but cut flowers droop and inevitably end up in the trash. Instead of buying mom a dozen roses, this year you could gift her everything she needs to kickstart a vibrant outdoor floral display that will last all summer long. To make things simple, head to your nearest greenhouse or plant nursery and pick out a colorful selection of blossoms in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Be sure to take advantage of the vertical space afforded by your lovely high ceilings and bring home a few hanging plants as well! You may want to keep some principles of landscaping in mind, but above all don’t forget to enjoy yourself in the seasonal atmosphere while picking out flora. That positive energy will be obvious to mom — and with a little planning and some dirty hands, your front yard will be the talk of the community as the Mother’s Day memories linger through the coming warm months.

Mother’s Day Goat Yoga
Being a mom is hard work, but most maternal figures will agree that their kids’ creativity and boundless energy also brings a whole lot of silliness and joy. With this in mind, why not give mom the gift of even more “kid” antics by treating her to a session of goat yoga? Found in numerous locations around the metro Denver area, goat yoga participants — and special goat guests — are led through a traditional hour-long session of stretching, posing, and meditating. Depending on your perspective, these goats are either helping or hindering — but no matter what, they’re sure to leave mom laughing with their big personalities.

Succulent and Crystal Terrarium Workshop
If your mother’s idea of a perfect day decidedly does not include livestock, maybe she’ll vibe with a terrarium workshop instead? This crafty all-ages event provides all the materials necessary to assemble a gleaming seven-inch succulent and crystal terrarium — and even better? Since it’s being held at Barquentine Brewing Company in Edgewater, all legal-aged participants can sip on a selection of delicious Denver-area brews while they construct their gorgeous terrariums. This is a perfect activity sure to keep everyone engaged — and your handiwork will make a beautiful design accent for your stylish Shea great room.
