What festivity would be complete without a signature cocktail? Whether you prefer classic concoctions or novel brews, here at The Canyons™ we’ve curated drink inspiration to make your holidays merry and bright this winter. Try our four spiked beverages sure to keep you warm on chilly evenings in your lovely home:

Mulled Wine
This hot beverage makes the perfect addition to luxurious winter nights tucked in front of your glowing fireplace. You’ll need one bottle of rich red wine, two cups of apple cider, your sweetener of choice, orange slices, and whole spices — including cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, and star anise. Pour the wine and cider into a large slow cooker, then mix in the sweetener, oranges, and spices. Cook on a low setting until warmed and transfer to mugs, garnishing with cinnamon sticks and more slices of orange. Cue cozy times at home!

Classic Eggnog
Upgrade this cold-month staple with a homemade recipe! Making eggnog from scratch will have your guests asking for more as you entertain on a chilly night in your warm great room. To start, combine two eggs and an additional yolk with a half cup of white sugar. In a medium pan, whisk together two cups of milk with one cup of heavy cream — allow the mixture to steam but not boil. Remove from heat and gradually pour the milk mixture into the eggs before returning the pan to heat and stirring to thicken. After sieving and chilling, add a half cup of rum or brandy for a kick, then serve heated and garnish with pumpkin spice and star anise!

Cranberry Mimosas
If you’re looking for a dinner party drink, these seasonal mimosas are just the ticket. Rim champagne flutes with lemon juice and coat with sugar using a plate or shallow bowl. Pour sweetened cranberry juice into each flute — filling halfway — then top with prosecco. Adorn with fresh cranberries and sprigs of rosemary to enjoy with scrumptious food in your open dining room.

Classic Manhattan
Hosting a leisurely-yet-upscale night with friends? Invite them over for sophisticated beverages in your basement wet bar — it’s sure to be a memorable event that will have your guests pleading for an encore. In a large, ice-filled glass, add two parts of bourbon or rye to one-part sweet vermouth and hearty dashes of both Angostura and orange bitters. Thoroughly mix or shake to combine, then strain into chilled cocktail glasses garnished with brandied cherries. Guests can enjoy at the bar or sip while relaxing on a couch in your rec room.
