February is a busy month in Arizona, especially this year. With the Super Bowl, Waste Management Phoenix Open, Spring Training, and our gorgeous weather it is surely a time that attracts lots of family and friends to our state. It’s very likely you’ll be welcoming guests to your homes this season. While this can be a very stressful experience, we’re here to share some helpful tips that will make it feel effortless.
Make Sleep a Wonderful Experience- Consider the number of guests that will be staying with you. Depending on how many you have, be sure to leave enough time to wash bed sheets and towels. Make beds comfortable by adding some extra pillows or blankets because remember- you’re trying to convince them this is a five-star hotel!
Stock the Pantry- One of the most efficient ways to prepare for visitors is by stocking the fridge/pantry full of items you plan to make. Be sure to ask enough in advance if they will be staying for an extended period. Also, keep in mind the days you plan your meals out so you’re not buying more than you need. Don’t forget to consider your guest’s preferences and their dietary restrictions. Always better off safe than sorry!
Try Adding a Pop of Color- Add a few bright items to accentuate the vibe of the space. Decorate by adding items like flowers, candles, or plants. Some nice flowers for decorating are orchids, lilies, peonies, and roses. Any of these will touch up the space by making it feel cleaner and more comfortable. These items can also go anywhere else in the house to make it feel homier.
Plan a Schedule- Having a list of activities planned is important. Consider what your guests like to do and keep a mental list in mind. Will they be staying in or going out? Be sure to consider your guests when making these arrangements to maximize their visit. Once you have a plan, keep everyone in the loop. But also, don’t forget to also leave some room for relaxing. A little down time never hurts anybody!
Bundle Essential Items Together- Another important thing to remember is keeping essential items together. We suggest using a round basket to store items like toothpaste, lotion, pain relievers, makeup wipes and Chapstick. The basket helps keep everything in one place, making it easily accessible to guests. And, if you must make more than one, divide the items up and duplicate it. You can store the items in the bathroom, like this one here from Emblem at Talinn.
Laundry Baskets- The final tip is to store laundry baskets in all the rooms guests will be staying in. Inform your visitors about them and before they leave by having them place all their dirty towels, sheets, and washcloths in there. These laundry baskets will make the cleaning process much more convenient and easier for you.
