Here are five essential furniture items you will need to create the perfect guest room:

1. Comfortable Bed 
A good night’s sleep is key to helping guests feel comfortable and relaxed. While you might not want to spend a lot of money on a bed that is infrequently used, make sure you are investing in a mattress that you would be happy sleeping on yourself. Top the bed with a nice set of sheets and pillows in a variety of different sizes, shapes, and firmness to make it extra inviting and comfortable.

2. Nightstand with light
Nightstands allow guests to keep anything they may need throughout the night, such as a glass of water or their cell phone, within an arm’s reach. Be sure to place a lamp with a hand-operated switch on the nightstand to make it easy for guests to get into bed without having to stumble around in the dark.
