California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) recently recognized Shea Homes for outstanding achievement in the area of workplace health and safety.
Cal/OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program – Construction (VPPC) recognizes companies who have implemented health and safety programs that effectively prevent and control occupational hazards. These companies go beyond minimal Cal/OSHA standards and provide the best feasible protection at the worksite. VPPC companies, like Shea Homes, are considered workplace health and safety leaders in the construction industry. Umbria by Shea Homes in Mountain House, was one of the first communities to receive this high honor.
Shea Homes is proud to be a VPPC recipient. This was truly a collaborative team effort, including OSHA, Shea Homes and our trade partners.. “Safety is the Shea way,” says Ed Calderon, Shea Homes Northern California Safety Manager. Shea Homes fosters a culture of safety with their “Nobody Gets Hurt Today” Program. One of Shea’s top priorities is to ensure that everyone working on a Shea construction site safely returns home to their families at the end of each day.
