It's all about location, location, location.
Here's what makes South Carolina a great place to live.
The rapidly expanding metropolitan area of Charlotte has caused the nearby small towns of York and Lancaster, both in South Carolina, to experience a surge in population and new home building. Despite the recent growth, the cities retain their small town charm and offer a pleasant alternative to those that wish to work in Charlotte while avoiding the stress of living in the big city.
York is currently undergoing their Streetscape Project, the largest renovation project in the town's history. The project aims to promote the downtown area with landscaping, pavement, and architectural improvements. And though it's a small town, York manages to have one of the largest historical districts in the country, with authentically restored buildings and museums commemorating important civil war battles.
Lancaster has also seen an influx of new residents who appreciate the area’s natural beauty. Some of the area's attractions include the 40 Acre Rock, which is indeed a 40 Acre rock and home to several interesting plants and animals, and its four golf courses. Lancaster is also committed to the arts. The city's Performing Arts Center manages to get headlining musicians and artists to the small town.
Both York and Lancaster are poised to grow tremendously over the next couple of years, which makes it an ideal location for those that enjoy their unique history and small town flavor.
