Club Connections at Trilogy: Finding New Friends through Shared Passions
Jun 14, 2019
If your idea of a good time includes doing what you love with people you genuinely like, then good times are ahead for you at Trilogy! When you make the move to a Trilogy community, you’ll have a chance to explore new paths, rekindle old passions, and make some of the best friends you’ve ever had. How? Join the Trilogy Homeowner-run clubs!
Each Trilogy community across the country has a long list of active clubs that cover a huge range of interests—cycling, singing, travel, tennis, painting, poker, wine tasting, ballroom dancing, books, and so many more. From sports to social clubs, from the arts to the sciences, from movie lovers to model builders, there’s a club for just about every interest out there. And if a hobby that’s close to your heart isn’t yet covered in a club at your Trilogy community, you can speak with your Lifestyle Director about potentially starting a new club!
Through our Club Connections at Trilogy series, we’ll introduce you to some of the active clubs at the Trilogy communities—where homeowners are having a ball connecting with new friends through shared passions. This month, we’re highlighting clubs from the Trilogy communities of Vistancia, Encanterra, Lake Frederick, Monarch Dunes, and The Vineyards.
Roadrunners Car Club | Trilogy at Vistancia
The Roadrunners Car Club at Trilogy was formed by car lovers who wanted to share their joy of the open road with others. All makes, models, and years are welcome! If you love to drive it, then come join the fun! The Roadrunners host monthly car luncheons—alternating long and short drives—which are a great way to get to know your neighbors who share your passion for a good road trip. They hold regular “Cars & Coffee” gatherings for those who want to enjoy some car talk over a cup of coffee, as well as monthly meetings and “Garage Time” events that include technical demos and presentations. Their biggest event of the year is their annual Roadrunner Car Show, with over 90 cars on display, most of which are owned by Trilogy homeowners.
Cactus Needlers | Encanterra
If you love the thread and yarn arts, Cactus Needlers of Encanterra is the club for you! This club meets weekly for an afternoon of knitting, crocheting, needlepointing, cross-stitching, embroidery, or any other thread and yarn crafts. Trilogy homeowners are encouraged to bring a current project and enjoy some laughs and great conversation with their fellow crafty neighbors. No attendance is taken, and all needlers can come when they can and join in the craft time. With conversation and great company in the mix, you’ll be done with that afghan, scarf, pillow cover, ornament, or other project of the moment before you know it. Trilogy Homeowners also like to share tips and tricks, while picking up additional skills from more experienced club members. Sound like fun? Bring your needles and thread or yarn and join them!
Cooking Club | Trilogy at Lake Frederick
The Cooking Club of Trilogy at Lake Frederick warmly welcomes both novice and experienced cooks in their kitchen! All Trilogy homeowners are welcome to join them for good food and fun, as they work in teams to try new recipes and cooking techniques each month. The Cooking Club meets monthly, August through May, in Rachel's Kitchen in the Shenandoah Lodge. They typically have a pre-planned culinary theme for the month, and they try to highlight a wide variety of cooking genres throughout the year, from soups and salads, to international entrees, to festive/seasonal desserts and more. One of their favorite past gatherings was a “Round the World” progressive cocktail party, in which they cooked together at their private homes, then met at Rachel’s Kitchen for dessert and social hour. Cooking Club gatherings are always a recipe for fun!
The Monarch Shutterflies Photography Club | Trilogy at Monarch Dunes
The Monarch Shutterflies is a club for photography enthusiasts of all skill levels, from beginners to experts. Club members use all types of camera equipment, ranging from smart phones and point and shoot cameras to high end DSLRs, to capture a variety of interests, including landscapes, portraits, artistic photos, and more. All photographers are welcome to join them monthly in the Wine Library, where the club gathers to share their photographs and the stories that surround them. Educational videos are shown at each monthly meeting, and the club often sponsors photography classes and other educational opportunities to help sharpen photography skills. Outings are scheduled for most months to give Trilogy homeowners a chance to take photos together and learn from each other—and friends and family are welcome to join in these outings!
Astronomy Club | Trilogy at The Vineyards
The Astronomy Club at Trilogy has four main goals for their gatherings: that they are educational, interesting, thought provoking, and fun! Each month, star gazers gather together for educational presentations, hands-on demonstrations of equipment and tools, celestial observing sessions (“star gazing”), and occasional planetarium trips. They focus on both Cosmology (the science of the origin and development of the universe, its parts, elements, and laws), and Observation (of moon, stars, planets, sun (with eye protection/solar filter), and other phenomenon in space using the naked eye, binoculars, or telescope). The club also has access to a computerized Celestron CPC 925 StarBright XLT GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain 2350mm Telescope. They hold periodic Star Parties for the Astronomy Club members, as well as for the Trilogy community in general.
If you’re considering making the move to Trilogy and are planning to visit soon, feel free to let your New Home Advisor know that you’d like to check out a club meeting.
