6 Tips to Make 2020 Your Best Year Yet
 
If you’re pretty excited about what’s on the horizon this year, we feel that. The start of a brand-new year is always energizing, but there’s just something fortuitous about the sound of 2020, isn’t there?
 
Maybe you’ve decided that this is the year you’ll make your move to a community that offers the lifestyle you seek to savor the next act in life. Or perhaps you’ve already made that move and want to take full advantage. Whatever your situation, here are a few tips on how to make 2020 your best chapter yet!
 
  1. Reflect. Take a look at last year, or the last couple of years. What are the aspects of your life where you feel the most satisfied, and what are the areas where you would like to make changes? These items could be specific like some of the below, or they could be more general, like making time for your relationships or removing stress from your life.
  2. Make home feel like home. Maybe you’re ready to make a change from the home where you’ve raised children to a home in a warmer climate—within a community of people also eager to take on new adventures. Whatever “home” means to you, put the wheels in motion this year to enjoy your newfound freedom in a place that feels good.
  3. Explore passions. Whether you want to pick up an old hobby that you let lapse during the hectic years of your career or you’ve lost yourself a bit, make this the year that you learn to cook, get outside more, or take up dancing with your spouse or friends.
  4. Find something active you want to do. You know that exercise is good for you. If you need to get better about making it part of your daily routine, try something different! Take up walking, or join a hiking club. Try yoga or Pilates. Get together with a neighbor and try out an easy-entry sport like pickleball, or take a golf lesson.
  5. Get out the map. If you’ve turned the page to retirement, this is your chance to explore—and we mean travel!
