Best New Restaurants and Attractions to Visit in Phoenix
Jan 20, 2023 • Phoenix Area, AZ
With the entire Phoenix Metro Area experiencing rapid growth, there has been a similar influx of new and creative restaurants and attractions to keep your weekends fresh. We’ve cut the list down to just a handful of our favorites to make it easier for you to decide your next date night.
Tia Carmen – Located in Scottsdale, just north of the 101 and only a short drive from Shea’s Emblem at Talinn community, Tia Carmen is a new southwestern cuisine restaurant. Angelo Sosa, who was featured on Bravo’s Top Chef in seasons 7 and 8, named the restaurant after his aunt from the Dominican. You can expect traditional southwest entrees and drinks in a beautiful setting within the JW Marriott Desert Ridge.
Chicken N Pickle – While this may sound like another restaurant, it offers more than just food. You’ve probably heard about the latest competitive trend, pickleball. Chicken N Pickle will bring a full restaurant and sports bar and combine them with numerous pickleball courts. The complex, which already has seven locations in the US, will be located at Westgate in Glendale. If you’ve ever been at Topgolf and had the thought “I wish they had this for pickleball” (and who hasn’t had that thought?), Chicken N Pickle is for you. They are expected to open in early 2023.
PopStroke – Tiger Woods is bringing his mini golf entertainment center to two Valley locations, one in Glendale and one in Scottsdale. According to the company’s press release, PopStroke is a “a technology-infused golf-entertainment concept featuring Tiger Woods and his TGR Design team's 36-hole putting facility, coupled with an outdoor dining area with a full menu, expansive variety of craft beer, wine, signature cocktails, ice cream, outdoor games and a playground.” Soon, you’ll be able to putt like Tiger, or at least on a hole he designed. Both locations will open in early 2023.
Bacanora – Located in the Grand Ave neighborhood of Downtown Phoenix, Bacanora may not be as new as the other businesses on this list, but it is still worth mentioning. Bacanora has been open for nearly two years but has maintained its status as a must-visit restaurant in the entire Valley. The worst part about Bacanora is the struggle to get a reservation. After receiving rave reviews from the likes of Bon Appetit, Esquire, and even making The New York Times’ “2022 Restaurant List”, the already popular restaurant is seeing new flocks of hungry customers. It is well worth the potential struggle for a spot though, with delicious dishes up and down the menu.
Andretti Indoor Karting & Games – Named after the famous race car driver, Mario Andretti, this 96,000 sq. ft. entertainment center will have a multi-level racetrack, virtual reality arcade games, bowling, event spaces, multiple restaurants, bars and offices in the space. This won’t be your local amusement park kart track though; it is expected to be “one of the most challenging tracks in the world” according to the company. The massive center is located only 20 minutes away from Shea’s Jorde Farms communities.
