With quality homes built to the highest standard and including some of the best amenities, it may be tempting to spend all of your time indoors while living at Trilogy, but we didn’t structure our resort communities just for you to stay inside! Stunning walking paths, manicured golf courses and stellar community clubhouses were all developed to be enjoyed – for your personal use and to connect with your neighbors.
To take advantage of the amenities, beautiful surroundings, and to challenge themselves to try a new hobby, many Trilogy community members are encouraging each other to come together through formal and informal clubs and activities. Here are a few we’ve heard about recently that piqued our interest:
What better way to meet new neighbors and experience your community than a weekly bike ride around the neighborhood? From beach-cruiser-riders to road bikers, The Cycling Club at Encanterra welcomes cyclists of all types to meet at the entrance of the community at the La Casa Fountain each Sunday for a leisurely ride around the neighborhood spent getting to know their neighbors and enjoying the day.
Not only do the cyclists at Encanterra ride the community’s pathways through the residential areas, they’re often treated to a special event they’ve dubbed the “Tour de Golf Course.” This ride only occurs once in a while, when Encanterra’s award-winning Tom Lehman designed golf course is temporarily closed to golfers for overseeding or other maintenance measures. During this time the Cycling Club is invited by the Encanterra staff to ride their bikes along the golf course’s cart paths. It’s a great way to tour and experience the course – even if you’re not a golfer!
The perfect end to a Sunday morning bike ride at Encanterra would be a meal at Solaz Grill, the community’s poolside cabana bar and grill. It’s the perfect place to refuel and cool down as you can simply swim up to the bar.
Have you always had an interest in sewing as a hobby, or simply admired the detailed work that goes into a handmade quilt? The Trilogy Quilters would love to share their knowledge with you – and would love even more if you could help them in the quilting process. With all of their quilts being donated to charity, the Quilters are a busy bunch and are ready to take advantage of any idle hands, even if you don’t know how to sew. Tasks like measuring, ironing, cutting and pinning fabric for the quilts all require no previous sewing experience, but being in the studio and helping will certainly get you involved in quilting quickly.
While some assembly of the quilts occur within Trilogy members’ homes, they also take advantage of the Artisan Studio of Trilogy Orlando’s Magnolia House.
A great way to end a quilters meeting happens to be right down the way from the Artisan Studio at Explorations Connection Lounge, the neighborhood’s gathering place. It’s the perfect location to sit down and chat over a cup of coffee about what quilts were assembled during the day.
The Trilogy Quilters are such a draw that occasionally community sales representatives will bring prospective Trilogy members around to see what the club is doing and meet the club members, so if you have a scheduled appointment to visit Trilogy Orlando, be sure you stop by to say hi.
Hitting the dance floor is a great way to get to know new people and the Dance Club of Trilogy at Rio Vista is making sure there are not any wallflowers left on their own during their monthly dances. A fun social event for couples and singles alike, the Dance Club encourages everyone to join them in the community’s clubhouse for their themed dances.
While those who like to lace up their dancing shoes will obviously have a good time as they cut a rug, even those with two left feet will have a wonderful time meeting new people, swapping dance styles and getting dressed up for the themed dances.
Don’t forget to toast to the night and newfound friends with a nightcap in the community’s plush, Grand Living Room.
STEM Club at Trilogy® at Vistancia
The STEM Club (which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) at Trilogy at Vistancia is a group of Trilogy members who are interested in learning more about various STEM topics – no matter if they work, or have worked, in STEM careers. Members typically meet at the beautiful Kiva Club at Trilogy at Vistancia which contains various meeting locations and even houses a Center for Higher Learning, complete with a classroom-like set up of computers which can be used for research.
Typical STEM Club meetings feature a speaker, who can be a Trilogy member or a local expert from the region, who wishes to share their STEM knowledge. These meetings are a great way to share your knowledge and engage with others who may have similar interests as you. Special club events even extend beyond the gates of Trilogy at Vistancia to various locations around the community.
After a meeting’s lecture has concluded, reach out to club members who would like to discuss the topic on a more personal basis and gather in the comfortable seating areas outside the Kiva Club, or liven up the afternoon with a trip to V’s Taproom.
