Our Solstice™ residents know that they live in one of the best possible locales to take advantage of Colorado’s stellar outdoor spaces — plus the Denver area’s top-notch culture and adventure. Still, no matter how much you explore, it’s incredibly easy to miss out on primo fun zones right in your backyard. To help you get to know some new hidden gems, we’ve put together a fun scavenger hunt that features fun within just a few miles of your home! While this game is geared toward younger people, we think that all the activities here are wonderful for the whole family. To maintain the spirit of surprise, you’ll find the answer key at the bottom of the page. Enjoy and have a blast!
Stop #1
You’ll find me running close to your front door. If you join in, I’ll accompany you every step of the way — but I won’t actually move. If you get to know me from tip to tail, you’ll have worked harder than any marathon runner (more than two times over). Still stumped? I take my name from a body of water, but I’m not usually wet. What am I?
Stop #2
If you visit me, you’ll find that my unusual tongue starts six miles back inside my mouth — but I never speak a word. If you listen carefully you may hear any number of different songs being performed by my friends, but none of them play instruments. Still not sure what I’m talking about? It will behoove you to visit my most famous (and famously quiet) residents. Where am I?

Once the flag waves, you won’t make it to the end of me without a good mastery of hairpins — but I’m not a hairdresser. Besides, any hairdo you have will be hidden squarely under a helmet. Don’t worry: Flyaways will be the least of your concern as you use both hands to try to keep all four on the floor. Ready to meet your need for speed? Start your engine.

When you’re here, you may spend a lot of time in an alley — but it won’t be because you’re a garbage collector. When you’re here, you may find yourself on the ropes — but it won’t be because you’re a boxer. When you’re here you may spend some time with friends by the pool, but there’s no reason to bring a swimsuit. Where is this magical place, where nothing is as it seems?

Once you’ve made it to the final location on this scavenger hunt, you will have encountered a lot of slips — but you shouldn’t have ever fallen. You probably won’t have come here to stow your cutter: Instead you’ll be most excited to cut into a delicious stack of pancakes. Once your meal arrives at your table, you’ll be saying “mine, mine, mine!” What place could this possibly be?
