The city of Oakley is hosting their Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 3rd, starting at 4 PM. Join in the celebration at Civic Center Plaza, located at 3231 Main Street, where there will be free parking and admission. The Plaza is located just a short drive away from our Orchard Trails neighborhood and will be adorned with lights and Christmas decorations for you and your family to enjoy. Free cookies and hot cocoa will be available for all attendees, and Santa Claus will make an appearance, so bring your kids! They can participate in arts and crafts activities and the whole family can enjoy the tree lighting ceremony near the Veteran’s Memorial at 6 PM.
Mountain House Tree Lighting
Grab your loved ones and a scarf and head to the annual tree lighting ceremony at Central Park in Mountain House. This two-day event is a joyous occasion for bringing together families throughout the community to join in a special celebration of the season. Stop by from 5 PM to 8:30 PM on Friday, December 2nd or 10 AM to 11 AM on December 3rd to kick off your cheery holiday festivities.

Embrace this magical time of year with a festive pancake breakfast on December 3rd at the Mountain House Community Services District. Join in the fun from 8 AM to 2 PM and mingle with special holiday characters and fellow members of your Mountain House community. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child (5 years old and younger). Experience a fun-filled, family-friendly event close to our Mountain House neighborhoods, Langston and Bergamo, on Friday, December 6th. The event is from 2 PM to 7 PM, and features an array of activities that will spark your holiday spirit. Rally up your loved ones and listen to the enchanting sounds of carolers, a live holiday choir, performances, and other fun activities. Go on a candy cane hunt, browse local vendors to get in a little early holiday shopping, and snap pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Grab a cup of hot chocolate and watch the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 PM, followed by live holiday music, food trucks, and more!
The Enclave is just a short drive from downtown Monterey, host of the 38th Annual Christmas in the Adobes on December 9th and 10th. This City-wide event runs from 5 PM to 9 PM and features an early evening walking tour of Monterey’s historic adobes adorned in holiday decor. Enjoy festive music and entertainment as you explore over a dozen magical homes and hear the stories of the City’s earliest buildings. Savor the warm spirit of the community at this charitable annual fundraiser for Monterey State Historic Park, which raises funds for the State Park’s educational history programs for elementary students, as well as for the restoration of the historic First Theater. Be sure to dress warmly and bring a flashlight!
If you enjoy seeing neighborhoods doused in lights, take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane in Pacific Grove this month. This neighborhood is a short drive from The Dunes and is the perfect way to enjoy a festive evening out with the family. Walk or drive slowly through the community and soak in the stunning holiday decorations and creative displays.
Join the Tracy Hills community when you live at Elan by participating in the annual Brighter Christmas of Tracy toy drive, and help hundreds of local families this holiday season. The most-needed items are unwrapped kids’ toys for kids ages 10 to 14, new winter clothing, and non-perishable canned foods. You can learn more about how you can help out here, and bring your donations to the Welcome Center until December 15th.
You can also go all out with your exterior holiday decor this year and join the Residents Holiday Home-Decorating Contest! From twinkle lights to blow-up Christmas characters, you can get creative and involve the whole family in participating in this fun and friendly holiday competition. Judging for this event will happen between December 18th and December 20th, so use this month to connect with your neighbors and spread the holiday cheer.
