It’s Grandparents Week at Trilogy® at Lake Frederick! Bring the grandkids for a week-long celebration of fun for the entire family!

Here’s the line-up of fun:
Monday, July 22: 11am to 12pm
Blue Ridge Wildlife Center presents: Wild Virginia! Get up close and personal with your wild neighbors and learn all about their natural history. This program focuses on animals that live here in Virginia and interesting facts and stories about their lives. Animal guests may include: fox, skunk, opossum, squirrel, bat, snake, turtle, raptor. Virginia standards of learning are covered in this program.
On July 22nd, bring out the grand kids for a 45-minute educational program about some of our local wildlife. We will see you in the Arts & Exploration Studio at 11 a.m.!
$5 per person. Children under 2 are free. The fee covers the cost of the educators and goes to the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center.
Monday, July 22: 1-3pm
Building a Birdhouse: Building something with your Grandchild as a team is a great bonding experience. It's even better when what you and your Grandchild can cherish what you build together for many years.
On Monday, July 22nd attend a Birdhouse Making Workshop, where you and your Grandchild can build a birdhouse together!
Each kit costs $8, which includes one birdhouse and all the materials you will need to build it. We will have paints that you can decorate your birdhouse after it's built.
Tuesday, July 23: 2-4pm
Soap Carving: Join us for Soap Carving with Trilogy Member John Kennedy for Grandparents Week! This is perfect for all ages of children, so let your Grandchild show off their creative side by carving soap! John will be instructing Soap Carving, but Grandparents must stay to help with their Grandchild.
The cost is $3 per Grandchild, which includes everything that they need.
Wednesday, July 24: 10-11am
Dog Safety with Warren Co. Humane Society: Learn how to be safe around familiar and unfamiliar dogs. The Warren County Humane Society will be giving an informational session about dog safety on Wednesday, July 24th at 10:00 AM.
This is a complimentary event.
Thursday, July 25: 3-4pm
Shenandoah Discovery Museum Outreach Program: Join us right here in the Arts & Exploration Studio for an afternoon of fun! A member of the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum will be setting up hands-on discovery stations based around education and fun. Programs include: ozobot coding, bridge building and various other programs! Stations are suitable for children 4 and older.
Some information about the programs that may be offered:
Ozobot Coding – Program mini robots to follow a path you design. Add special features to make your robot dance, change colors and spin around!
Bridge Building – Can you design a bridge that can reach 12 inches tall and hold 5 lbs? If it can hold 5 lbs, can it hold 10 lbs? 15? 20? Check out some real bridge designs before constructing your own.
The Most Magnificent Thing – Can you create the most magnificent thing, using some unique building materials? Learn a little about pulleys while designing!
Make it Fly – Using everyday items, can you make a ping pong pilot float, fly and flip? Test your engineering skills to send your pilot soaring!
Roller Coaster Physics – What happens when you pair a flexible track with mini race cars? You’ve got a recipe full of loops, hills, and twists! Create your own roller coaster!
The cost is $6 per child.
Thursday, July 25: 7-9pm
Movie Night – July 25 7-9pm: Grab your Grandchild(ren) and join us for a family friendly movie down on the Member Level of the Lakeside Lodge. The movie starts at 7:00 PM. Popcorn and water will be provided! There is no cost to watch the movie.
Saturday, July 27: 12-2pm
Pool Party FUN!!! Help up close out Grandparents Week with fun in the sun during a pool party on Saturday, July 27th at the Outdoor Pool. We will be serving up chicken nuggets, mini corn dogs, french fries, fruits & berries and novelty ice cream.
The cost is $13 for children ages 12 and under & $15 for adults.
